Family Member Support Groups
One of the services The Hoarding Project offers is a support group for family members and friends of people who hoard.
Our research has found that people who have loved ones who hoard are significantly affected by their hoarding behavior. These family members and friends may experience difficult feelings and emotions, like anger, sadness, guilt, resentment, and hopelessness.
Negative feelings like this can result in even more difficultly in relationships among friends and family. When it comes to also dealing with hoarding, this can be a very hard situation to be in without support.
Our groups offer the opportunity to talk about your experience, concerns, and hear how others in the same situation are coping with the hoarding behaviors of with their loved one.
Tacoma, Washington:

Pre-registration Required: In order to ensure space, please pre-register by noon on the day of the group meeting to e-mail (jennifer@sampsontherapy.com) or phone: 206-795-8784.
Where: My office is located in the One Pacific Building in Downtown Tacoma. The address is 621 Pacific Avenue, Suite 315, Tacoma, WA 98402. There is usually ample street parking on S. 7th available for 75 cents an hour. You will need a code to access the building; please contact me via e-mail or phone and I will provide you with that code. Enter the main doors on the south side of the building and proceed to the elevators ahead of you on your left. Take the elevator to the third floor.
Cost: A $10 donation is requested.
